This course is designed for those who already have basic hairdressing skills and aims to enhance and develop those skills, knowledge and behaviours you already have.
Full hairdressing training is not given as this is a diploma only course.
This course is right for you if you are already working in a salon and want to gain a recognised qualification in order to advance your career. You should be excited to learn more about the hairdressing world and are willing to set aside time to work on your qualifications.

I also have many years of experience in customer service and the training of others within a school and college environment and as a manager at professional ownership level. | Before becoming a hairdresser, it’s important to understand that the role can be fast-paced, full on and you will spend your days on your feet. You’ll also need to be a great communicator and happy to learn the technique elements of the job such as colour theory and cutting angles. This isn’t for everyone, but for a hairdresser, it’s the best job there is out there. |
| Yes! As long as you are over the age of 16 and not in full-time education, you can undertake an apprenticeship to become a hairdresser. Many of our learners find apprenticeships are a great way to make a career move – at any age! |
