Is this course right for you?

Traineeships are a great alternative for young people who may not feel ready for an apprenticeship. Maybe your skills and experience need developing a bit before an employer will take you on. If this is the case for you, you should seriously consider a traineeship as a first step.

A lack of qualifications or work experience doesn’t have to stand in the way of getting on the career ladder. Traineeships help young people in this very situation.

Anyone aged 16 – 18 with little or no work experience, and without a level 3 qualification, can apply for a childcare traineeship at Realise.

What you’ll learn

You will develop new skills that will underpin your future success in an apprenticeship or early years setting. The course includes:

  • A focussed period of work preparation training, covering areas like CV writing, interview preparation, job search and skills needed to work in the early years sector
  • A high-quality work placement with one of our network of trusted employers to give meaningful work experience and an opportunity to develop workplace skills
  • Support to develop your English and maths skills if necessary
  • An interview for an apprenticeship or job if available, or an exit interview with written feedback.

83% of our traineeship learners have progressed onto an apprenticeship in a nursery setting.

How you’ll learn

The programme is delivered in cohorts, to provide learners with the opportunity to network with individuals at similar stages of their career.
